Fernando Tarango is a freelance vocalist, singer songwriter and recording artist who is known for his versatility of styles and engaging performance. He has sung professionally for the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, the a cappella men’s octet, Clerestory, and the Grammy Award Winning, Pacific Boychoir Academy. Fernando has premiered the role of Mr. Bingley in the first operatic rendition of Pride and Prejudice by Kirke Mechem in Davies Symphony Hall, has sung multiple lead roles for the San Francisco Pocket Opera Company and has performed as a solo entertainer for Holland America Cruise Lines.
As a recording artist and songwriter he has recorded three solo albums and has licensed music to shows on MTV, E! and Oxygen networks, such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Bad Girls Club, Real World Road Rules and Love Games. He has been sung for recording projects such as a jazz/folk fusion in Bolivia (South America) and a New Age Gregorian Chant project in Indiana. He has received radio airplay across the country and even Australia for the novelty song “Santa Has Big Bells” which was featured on Minoan Music’s, Music To Kill For Album, and the Youtube performance of “Cloud of You” won him and the band, the Maywinters (Cheyenne, Wyoming), the opportunity to play live at the Bonnaroo Music Festival, in Manchester, TN.
Fernando’s professional career began at the age of 10 traveling the world with the American Boychoir School in Princeton, NJ. He continued his musical studies at the University of Michigan with a B.M. in Vocal Performance. He has toured throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, South America and the Caribbean. He is currently based in Fort Wayne, Indiana and is regularly featured as a singer and soloist for choirs, orchestras, acoustic bands and rock bands both locally and internationally.
